Foster’s humble boat
Wait, Foster + Partners are now designing boats?!? It appears that they are, for YachtPlus “fractional yacht ownership made easy”. Ahhhh, time share for a boat! Plus you won’t have to worry all the troubles that come at sea. Instead you can enjoy the corporate luxury interiors:
Very Foster-ish indeed. My favorite are the construction photos. Since when did boats need so many wires?
Finally a boat for those who hate everything about boating. Actually this is a nice boat that I would love to spend a day on. I think the exterior has the interior beat, by far! more.

shadow type
Thin wires lit dramatically can create a beautiful sign. Doing more with less proves itself again. I love it! Designer: MIT media lab student Amerigo. His works and others found here.

rent-o-meter
Apparently my rent is a good deal. Is yours? I found this fun and interesting. Then again maybe it would have not been so fun if I was getting ripped off.

radiohead and 3rd printing?
This Radiohead video is for those designers who love 3d print technology, and those that love lasers and scanners, and well those who are still saying “you can 3d print?” It is all made by laser scanners and renderers of sorts. Pretty nifty!
oh and here is the making of the video

sustainability for your ipod
I just read a review of this sustainable ipod sound dock, the Vers2X. It comes in cherry, bamboo, or walnut straight from plantation forests. It runs on 56 watts which is 50% less that its counterparts which are also full of lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, among other hazardous materials.
I must say from a design stand point it is much nicer than the others as well. It has a slight retro feel as well as being very modern.
Check out the site (above) for more images, it has a few different options. I’ll be adding this to my list of wants. Priced between $149 and $179, It is not out of my price range!!

ideas for sale
This little east village market, Kamaran’s Grocery, has 50 cent ideas in a vending the machine nonetheless! . . . and to think that corporations pay millions for someone to come up with ideas. All my design problems solved!

twist chair
Who needs four legs? Not Nick Ross or his twist chair. For those with a little piece of dirt to call their own. You could get several and arrange them at different heights, it would be like a garden of chairs.

screen printed jewels

Uli Designs takes traditional jewelry design and screen prints them on to rubber leaving us with modern jewelry with a touch of classic. These would definitely make a statement. I wonder what kind of comments you would get.
